“OAF” Industrial Abrasive Filaments

WOLF. OAF, industrial abrasive filaments are also named as abrasive material filaments; use high-quality nylon as carrier, evenly mix with abrasive grit such as silicon carbide or aluminum oxide, and go through spinning process such as extrusion and extension to make the special abrasive filaments; typical composition: 30% abrasive grit + 70% nylon.

The industrial abrasive filaments are distributed with abrasive grit through external surface, section and inner core to form rough/hard/small edges. When industrial equipment drives the brush at a high speed, the filaments will intensively scrape and rub the surface for surface treatment such as finishing and polishing, removing burrs, and removing oxidation layer, maintain the same surface working effects for a long time; meanwhile they are flexibly abrasive without damaging the original size of workpiece.

The complete rough structure of WOLF.OAF can grind and polish in 360° degrees and reach tiny area through the elastic filaments. They are especially suitable for irregular shape surface such as uneven surface, holes, grooves, and pipeline inner walls, and can provide finishing and polishing as well as cleaning and de-fouling for the overall workpiece in all angles industrially.

Nylon base material: N612/N610/N6 series

Filament diameter: ¢0.25-2.20mm

Abrasive grit type: SIC black silicon carbide, GC green silicon carbide, AO brown aluminum oxide, WA ceramic corundum, and ZA fused alumina zirconia etc.

Granularity: General #36-#1000 and OEM customized #1200-#5000

Core value

•Abrasive effects: Polishing and de-burring can achieve machining quality requirements

•Abrasive efficiency: More qualified workpieces can be processed within unit time

•Stable quality: Basically constant surface treatment effects

•Comprehensive costs: Comprehensive processing costs such as labor, machines, and energy consumption

•Service considerations: Fast delivery, small batch supply, and assisting manufacturers

Typical application

•Metal materials: Post-surface finishing of coiled materials such as copper strips, aluminum strips, and stainless steel

•Automobile industry: De-burring and polishing for gears, engine parts and wheel hubs before painting

•Household appliance industry: Finishing of compressor parts in refrigerators and air conditioners

•Textile industry: Textile fabrics griting to obtain suede, soft, and skin-friendly touch

•House and home industry: Archaizing stone grinding and surface treatment of annatto furniture, root carving, and boards before painting

•Electronics industry: De-burring of metal or plastic housing, de-fouling and grinding of printed circuit boards (PCB)

•Hole groove machining: De-burring of deep holes, relevant holes, groove inner walls, and embossed patterns

•Polishing and de-burring: Surface grinding of sheet metal parts, hardware, and before electroplating and painting

•Machinery and tools: Angle grinder and polisher consumables for surface de-burring and chamfering

Suggestions on Model Selection

Combine the current industry situation and operating conditions such as dry grinding/wet grinding, rotation speed, pressure, temperature, filament length, abrasive surface hardness and roughness, machining points, and scrap reasons, find out the product features and value junction points to select the suitable abrasive filaments.

•Main Types of Abrasive grit

SIC silicon carbide is the top selection and featured by sharp and wearable characteristics, high cost performance and wide applicability;

AO aluminum oxide is commonly used in processing soft materials such as copper, aluminum and wood;

WA ceramic corundum is featured by strong cutting force and good self-sharpening and can be used for textile griting and accurate grinding etc.

•Selection of Meshes

Coarse grinding #46-#180, finishing #180-#320, accurate grinding #320-#600, and fine polishing #800-#1500;

The large-particle and sparsely-distributed coarse abrasive grit can have quick grinding and removal speed and obtain rough surface effects;

The small-particle and intensively-distributed fine abrasive grit can have small removal margin and obtain smooth and delicate surface effects.

•Selection of Filament Diameter

Coarse filaments: Have large exerting pressure at contact, quick processing and large removal margin;

Fine filaments: Be suitable for soft precision grinding and polishing.

•Selection of Base Material

N612 filaments have superior comprehensive performance and are suitable for harsh conditions or high added value application;

N610 filaments are economical and widely applicable and suitable for abrasive brushes of quick wear and slow rotation speed;

N6 filaments are soft and elastic, have low grinding efficiency, and are suitable for coarse-diameter filaments in flexible dry grinding.
